We are doing the South Beach Diet!

We have both been complaining that one of the other changes we need to make in our life has to do with our health and weight, so it has been decided that we will start the South Beach Diet! :)

I have gained like 20lbs since moving here and starting working and then with the combination of stress and TERRIBLE diet I've been keeping, I've been getting sick a lot as well! So, I decided that I wanted to make a change and after much debate with Dave over which diet we should choose, he was nice enough to cave in from the Atkins Diet to entertain my thoughts on the South Beach Diet! (I like that there are more options and variety in the choices of foods!) So, over the last 2 weeks we have been cleaning out the bad foods from the cupboards and fridge and got "The South Beach Diet Supercharged" book as well as the South Beach Diet Quick and Easy Cookbook and this Monday marks the starting day of our new diet! What I'm excited about is that it really isn't much different from what my daily diet is anyways. So I think I can stick to this one!

First two weeks will be difficult as I really like my carbs! I'm going to miss my pasta's and bread a LOT! LOL! I've also been having a glass of wine at night to help me wind down and that's on the "No-No" as well...So I will miss that as well...But I'm excited and committed to doing this. I really want to get down to that 125-130 range where I feel really healthy, so hopefully this will be it!

I will keep you all informed once we start! (Our first Weigh-in starts Monday morning!) Wish me luck!

Live, Laugh, Love.

Dream Dream Dream...

"Whenever I want you all I have to do is dream..." Funny the things dreams are made of. Interesting how the mind wanders, vents, releases, explores the inner depths of the mind and inner dwindling desires. For me, It seems to be 1 of 2 different outlets for me: first being Anger and pain, second being desire and longing. Both produce the same results: loneliness. Now don't go thinking that I'm all depressed and need an intervention (although maybe sometimes I do!), it's just that sometimes life knocks you hard in the butt and its difficult to keep up with the constant marathon race. Maybe my reaction isn't the best method of dealing, but I can't seem to help the constant exhaustion no matter how hard I try! I am just ready to hit that next chapter of my life you know? So, let me explain the anger dreams...I don't know why they are coming back, but it has to do with the skank that my ex cheated on me and left me for. I think a lot of the tension i...

Waiting for the other shoe to drop...

So, I think I'm in one of those stages where I feel like if I'm not careful I'm going to make a mess of things...This applies to more than 1 area by the way...work, love, friends, etc. Something weird is in the air and I'm not sure what...I just feel that if I'm not careful, it going to hurt. But then again, that could be me trying to drum up some way to keep life interesting...although, it's interesting enough as is! Been talking to the Brit a LOT like everyday since Cancun! He's coming to visit me in March...which I'm looking forward to a lot, but at the same time it makes me nervous! I haven't found anything wrong with him yet...in fact, at this point he's perfect!...The problem isn't soo much him...but the parents...I KNOW its sad I'm saying this...I'm only 3 years to my 30's and I'm worried about getting my parents "permission" like I'm a little kid...But I'm seeing that they may have an age issue...So h...

"The Lead of Love"...

"Looking back at the road so far The journey's left it's share of scars. Mostly from leaving the narrow and straight. Looking back it is clear to me, that a man is more than the sum of his deeds, And how you make good of this mess I've made is a profound mystery. Looking back you know you had to bring me through all that I was so afraid of though I questioned the sky now I see why...Had to walk the rocks to see the mountain view looking back I see the lead of love Looking back I can finally see how failures bring humility(I'd rather have wisdom and pain) Brings me to my knees (Than be a comfortable old fool)Helps me see my need for thee..." - "The Lead of Love" from Caedmon's Call. I have really been working on putting the pieces of my life back together and I think that one of the things that have been missing in my life is my spiritual growth. It's something I've been thinking and missing for some time now and think that maybe ...
